Kylie Schmidt, Psy.D. (she/her) is a Postdoctoral Clinical Psychologist who works with children, adolescents, and adults. She provides individual therapy, caregiver support, and comprehensive psychological assessment services. Dr. Schmidt’s training across community mental health, inpatient, and outpatient settings has equipped her to work with individuals across the lifespan presenting a wide range of emotional, behavioral, developmental, and psychological concerns.
Dr. Schmidt is committed to creating a supportive and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients feel understood, empowered, and supported in achieving meaningful change. She conducts comprehensive neuropsychological assessments to evaluate cognitive, academic, emotional, behavioral, developmental, and other diagnostic concerns. Dr. Schmidt conducts evaluations with children as young as 3 years through early adulthood and commonly assesses for ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorder, Learning Disabilities, Anxiety Disorder, and Mood Disorders. These evaluations support clients’ pursuit of deeper diagnostic understanding and access to supportive interventions within the community such as IEP/504 school accommodations, testing accommodations, and workplace accommodations. She values tailoring treatment and assessment recommendations to each client’s unique strengths, needs, and goals.
In addition to assessment, Dr. Schmidt provides individual and family therapy for a small caseload of clients. She utilizes an integrative approach to treatment, drawing primarily from psychodynamic and Humanistic-Existential perspectives while incorporating evidence-based interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). She has experience working with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, autism spectrum disorder, parenting concerns, emotional regulation difficulties, and life transitions.
Dr. Schmidt earned her Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology at National Louis University. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Will County Health Department. Throughout her training, she worked in a variety of clinical settings, providing psychotherapy, assessment, and consultation services to diverse populations.
